On the evening of October 21, Russia launched two S-300 missiles at the territory of the Kharkiv region. The strike occurred at the "Nova Poshta" terminal: as a result of this war crime, 6 civilians were killed and 16 others were injured inside the facility.
The terminal was nearly completely destroyed, and dozens of trucks used for the facility's needs were damaged by the shockwave and missile fragments. Ongoing missile and drone strikes in Ukraine highlight the need for a deep-layered air defense system around each major Ukrainian city.
Russia continues to commit multiple war crimes in Ukraine, warranting further sanctions against the terrorist state. Specifically, in the new 12th package, the EU will consider restricting the import of diamonds from Russia: annually, the Kremlin receives at least 4 billion euros from their sales to Europe. Consequently, a portion of this money is used to continue the expansionist war against Ukraine.
Another equally important issue is limiting Russia's ability to import high-tech goods, which are subsequently used in the defense industry. Particularly in missile production: the Russian Aerospace Forces continue to launch ballistic and cruise missile strikes on Ukrainian cities - the Kremlin has found loopholes to circumvent sanctions. Therefore, tightening control over the sale of missile and drone components is an inevitable step to weaken Russia's defense industry.
Russia's actions pose a threat to the entire world. Putin is attempting to create global instability to weaken the West and subsequently make it dependent on Russia and China. Therefore, the West must reassess the threat emanating from Russia and neutralize it. Sanctions, increasing international isolation of the Kremlin, and all possible support for Ukraine, especially the supply of Western weapons to its army, are key conditions for eliminating the threat emanating from Russia.
