Another act of Russian terrorism against a civilian target in Ukraine

On the evening of October 21, the Russian army launched another missile strike from the Belgorod region, using S-300 missiles, on the major logistics and innovation terminal of "Nova Poshta" located in the Ukrainian town of Korotych in the Kharkiv region.

As a result of the missile strike, 6 postal workers were killed, and 17 were injured and wounded by shrapnel. All of them were peaceful civilians who were working at the facility. This was a completely civilian terminal with no connection to any military actions or operations, despite Russian propaganda demonizing "Nova Poshta."

At the time of the shelling, 22 people were present within the terminal. Among the injured were residents of Kharkiv, Pesochyn, Lyubotyn, and Izyum, aged 19 to 43.

The terminal was almost completely destroyed, and the freight vehicles were damaged.

The attack on the terminal was not an accident. The strike on it constitutes another war crime by the Russian Federation. Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated for the violation of laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). All Russian war crimes are being documented and investigated. The perpetrators will not escape criminal liability or retribution from the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Strikes on civilians are Russia's tactic of terror. The attack on the Ukrainian terminal is a deliberate strike on a civilian object, indicating another act of genocide against the Ukrainian people. Worldwide, there is a growing wave of condemnation of Russia's barbaric strikes on peaceful infrastructure in Ukraine, as intentional strikes on civilians or civilian infrastructure are prohibited by international humanitarian law and constitute a war crime.

Russia continues to shell Ukrainian cities and peaceful Ukrainians, using various types of cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as employing mass drone kamikaze attacks.

To defend against Russian terrorism, Ukraine needs assistance from its partners, which will include a deeply layered air defense system in every Ukrainian city. Long-range air defense will enable more Ukrainian industries to operate, guarantee the functioning of Ukrainian corridors in the Black Sea and Danube region. With reliable sky defense, most Ukrainians will be able to return from abroad, thus strengthening the country socially and economically, which will also ensure greater military strength.

The only power of Russia lies in its ability to "destroy lives." Russia will achieve nothing through terrorism and killings. The end for all terrorists is the same: accountability for their actions. It is necessary to increase pressure on the terrorist state. Strengthening air defense and other types of armament for Ukraine will be a failure of Russia's terrorist strategy. Ukraine, together with its partners, must win this "battle against terrorism."
