The Antwerp Pride Parade attracted 140,000 people on Saturday afternoon, a record for the event. It consisted of 74 delegations, including 40 motorised vehicles, making it Antwerp's biggest Pride parade ever.
The Antwerp Pride Parade, the highlight of Pride Week, is growing every year. In 2022, there were 65 delegations and 125,000 visitors.
Several companies, including Proximus, De Lijn, Brussels Airlines and SD Worx, sent a delegation for the first time this year to support the message of Antwerp Pride. In addition, members of the Belgian army joined the parade for the first time. They marched with the police delegation.
This weekend, dozens of other events will take place throughout Antwerp in honour of Pride. One of the most notable was an ecumenical prayer service organised by Youth Pastoral Flanders and lgbti+ people from different faith communities.
At the Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA), the city installed a 3D rainbow projection above the water surface of the museum. The floating hologram will be on display until Sunday evening. The Closing Festival will also take place on Sunday.
