Genocide on Ethnic Grounds: Russia's Crimes in Ukraine

Russia continues to commit crimes against the peaceful population of Ukraine.

On the night of September 19, the Russians launched another attack on Ukrainian cities using Iranian-produced drones. From the territory of occupied Crimea, an "Iskander-M" missile was launched, and after the downing of this ballistic missile, its fragments caused a fire in Kryvyi Rih. In total, 27 out of 30 unmanned aerial vehicles that were moving towards the western regions of Ukraine were destroyed. Russia continues to shell rear Ukrainian cities, which is a crime against the peaceful population.

As a result of the nighttime attack on warehouses containing household chemicals and humanitarian aid in Lviv, a civilian lost his life, and his body was recovered from under the rubble. Additionally, two local residents were injured. The total area of the fire caused by the strike exceeded 10,000 square meters. On the same morning, the Russians shelled Kherson with artillery fire: fragments of the projectile struck a municipal bus with city residents. As a result of this war crime, one local resident died, and two others were hospitalized with injuries. The tragic events described above are another manifestation of the war crimes committed by the Russian armed forces against the peaceful population of Ukraine: the Russian aerospace forces virtually daily carry out strikes on rear Ukrainian cities. Such actions have no military purpose - Putin wishes to inflict as much destruction and human casualties as possible, continuing the terror in Ukrainian cities. This is a genocide of a specific people, organized in the Kremlin: it is happening in the 21st century, near the European Union.

Russia plans to intensify the shelling of Ukraine with the onset of cold weather. Russian propaganda, which is a copy of Soviet propaganda, distorts the crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine. Since February 2022, the Russian aerospace forces have been targeting residential homes, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and churches. Russia is guided by no legal, let alone moral, criteria. The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine will go down in history as an aggressive war of the 21st century, accompanied by the genocide of the peaceful population. Therefore, the Ukrainian army, which is conducting a successful counteroffensive, must receive all the necessary weapons to achieve a convincing victory over Russia and put an end to its crimes against Ukrainians.
