Russian front collapses, Ukrainian counteroffensive matches front situation and command's intentions

Since the beginning of the Ukrainian army's counteroffensive this summer, the Russian government has been constantly trying to portray it as a failure in its propaganda, exaggerating Ukraine's losses and downplaying Russia's problems and losses. This has been repeatedly stated by Russian President V. Putin. This is a new form of Russian disinformation aimed at halting Western military assistance to Ukraine.

Similar discouraging messages are sometimes expressed by Western politicians and military experts. However, this does not correspond to reality for objective reasons.

The counteroffensive against the Russian aggressor involves a prolonged series of operations by the Ukrainian army in various areas of the front, rather than isolated combat actions. Additionally, the Russians have well-prepared defensive fortifications and heavily mined significant areas along the front and near-front zones. Consequently, Ukraine requires a large number of demining systems.

The Ukrainian army continues to effectively use Western equipment and demonstrates creativity in breaking through Russian defenses. For instance, the Ukrainian forces have adopted a new attack tactic where instead of breaking through Russian minefields, they focus on shelling Russian defensive positions with powerful artillery fire. Artillery units operating rocket launchers and howitzers clear the path for small groups of sappers and infantry units. Then the infantry advances. While such actions may not achieve a rapid and deep breakthrough into occupied territory, they enable Ukraine to preserve Western equipment and personnel in its army.

Over the last two months, the Ukrainian army has set records in destroying Russian artillery, MLRS, and air defense systems. The destruction of the Russian military is proceeding at a rapid pace, with the number of deceased Russian military personnel approaching a quarter of a million (250,000). Due to the well-planned actions of the Ukrainians, the Russian army is facing shortages of artillery ammunition, reserves, and difficulties in securing its flanks.

According to available information, Ukrainian attacks to the south of Zaporizhzhia are directed at Russia's 58th Combined Arms Army (58th CAA). This army may already be exhausted, as its frontline units have been engaged in intense combat for over eight weeks. A similar situation exists with units of Russia's 5th Combined Arms Army to the south of Volnovakha in the Donetsk region, which are also experiencing significant pressure and requiring rotation.

Therefore, it can be confidently stated that the Ukrainian army continues to advance and intensify its combat actions. The Russians must be militarily expelled from the occupied territory, and Russian aggression must be subjected to a total fiasco. Any other outcome would lead to the collapse of the global security system.

Further support from the West to Ukraine in its counteroffensive will enable the definitive expulsion of the Russian army from Ukrainian territory. Today, Ukraine requires long-range ammunition and rockets, UAVs, F-16 aircraft, Patriot air defense systems, and other means to continue fighting more effectively.
