Russian Missile Terror

On the night of August 15, the Russian army launched another massive missile strike on Ukraine. Explosions rocked Lviv, Lutsk, and Khmelnytskyi. Russian forces also attacked the Dnipro and Donetsk regions of Ukraine. In Lutsk, two missiles hit an industrial plant, resulting in three deaths and three injuries. In Lviv, over a hundred apartments were damaged from the shelling, and one missile fell in the courtyard of a kindergarten, destroying it. The Zaporizhia, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were also hit. One of the damaged sites due to missile bombardment with S-300 missiles in Kramatorsk was a storage facility containing food supplies. Throughout Ukraine, a total of 28 different types of guided missiles were launched, along with eight S-300/400 missiles, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force. Sixteen guided missiles were successfully intercepted.

On the night of August 14-15, the Russian army attacked the Odessa region three times, utilizing two waves of attack drones. In the region, 15 drones and eight sea-launched "Kalibr" missiles were deployed. Three individuals were injured, seven educational institutions were damaged, and 203 houses were affected.

The Russian Ministry of Defense cynically claims to target military and related objects. Childcare centers, wholesale food depots, educational institutions, residential homes, youth sports schools, supermarkets, and architectural landmarks—are all these military targets? After Russia terminated the grain deal, it immediately began targeting Odessa and Mykolaiv, destroying grain storage facilities and port infrastructure. Russian attacks are primarily aimed at civilian targets. After suffering a significant defeat on the battlefield, Russia has shifted to open terrorism against the civilian population. In such circumstances, the risks to the lives and health of civilians have significantly increased. Unfortunately, there is currently no safe place in Ukraine. While most missiles and drones are intercepted by the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the air, some still manage to hit their targets. Additionally, debris from intercepted missiles poses a danger.

As an aggressor nation, Russia disregards all rules of war by attacking the civilian population. This tactic has no military objectives except terrorism. The Russian Federation is merely attempting to cause maximum damage with these bombardments, to kill and wound as many Ukrainians as possible, to break their will to resist, and to exact revenge for its defeats on the frontlines. This terror is devoid of sense and rational basis; with each new missile, the hatred and determination to fight in the Ukrainian people only grow. What Russia is doing in Ukraine now is disgusting, deliberate, primitive terrorism! It's massive and extensive, involving the total destruction of villages and settlements. Russia must be held accountable for everything it has caused in this terrible war. Terrorists only understand strength. They won't stop on their own unless stopped by force. Any concessions, "peaceful" negotiations with a state-terrorist that kills civilians, is a crime. Advocates of compromise and appeasement towards the aggressor should imagine waking up in fear from the sound of sirens or not waking up at all.

Putin's missile terror proves that timely Western assistance and weapon supplies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are the only path to peace. To prevent civilians from dying in constant missile attacks, Ukraine needs to bolster its air defense systems, acquire more long-range missiles, and receive other forms of assistance to expel the aggressor from its land. Russia, as a state-terrorist, poses a threat to the entire civilized world. Eliminating this threat is a collective goal.
